Tax returns - on time and in line with Dutch tax law

Which returns you have to file depends on your legal form and your circumstances: income tax, corporate income tax, VAT, payroll tax, or a combination. Monitoring the deadlines is part of the service, as is a draft beforehand and a check of the assessment afterwards.

This might be for you if you're dealing with

  • The income tax return for a freelancer, eenmanszaak or partnership

  • The corporate income tax return for a BV

  • Quarterly VAT returns, and the EC Sales List for trade within the EU

  • Payroll taxes for staff employed in the Netherlands

  • The M-form in the year of arrival or departure

  • Foreign income or assets that belong in the Dutch return

  • A preliminary assessment that no longer matches reality

  • An objection against an assessment

Process

You can supply documents in whatever way suits you: an export from your accounting software, a folder of scans, or the paperwork as you receive it. Which documents are needed, you'll hear in advance, tailored to your situation rather than as a standard checklist. The draft follows, and after your approval, the tax return is filed. Once the assessment arrives, it is compared against what was filed.

Deadlines

Every return has its own deadline, and they do not run in parallel. The income tax return for a calendar year can be filed from 1 March of the following year and is generally due before 1 May; an extension is possible but must be requested in time. For corporate income tax, the deadline is five months after the end of the financial year. Filing late results in a penalty, even when there is nothing to pay.

Fixed price

Recurring work has a fixed fee per period, which is adjusted if the scope of work structurally changes. What a tax return costs for your situation is agreed before the work begins.

An introductory call is not an intake, and not an advice session. You talk about what you’re working on, I listen and say what stands out, and by the end we both know whether this is a fit and whether advice would be useful. There is no charge for the conversation itself.
